1 Participating in Torrevieja u3a group activities, trips and social events is at members own risk
and with their own insurance cover. The association only carries third party insurance cover and
neither the association committee members nor group leaders are to be held responsible nor
will we accept any claim for injury, mishap or loss that may occur.

2 The information provided on the Membership application form will be held on a u3a computer
database and UK cloud and used in connection with Torrevieja u3a activities. These details in
some instances may be passed to a third party outside of the Torrevieja u3a for trips/events run
in association with a third-party provider.

3 The annual membership fee for the association covers the period January to December of each
year and should be paid for by 1st April. Any member not renewed by 1st April will be taken off the
mailing list and will not be able to book events and attend group activities.
Failure to pay by 1st April will result in your membership being cancelled and therefore you will
have to re-join with a new membership number and pay the current fee for new members.

4 The Committee may terminate membership of any member if that member’s behaviour is
prejudicial to the Torrevieja u3a or brings it into disrepute, PROVIDED THAT, the individual
concerned shall have the right to be heard by the committee whose decision is final.

5 Changes to members’ details, home address, telephone number or email address is the
responsibility of individual members and should be sent to the Membership Secretary as soon
as possible for amendment.

6 In keeping with the Torrevieja u3a Privacy Policy photographs may be taken whilst
participating in Torrevieja u3a trips, events or group activities. These photographs may be used
on the Torrevieja u3a website, Facebook or the local newspaper. If you do not want your
photograph published then you must inform the organiser or group leader, especially before
group photographs are taken. In this case you should absent yourself from the group before the
photograph is taken.

No Member shall issue details of any u3a activity or publication by any means unless by first contacting
the Committee.
