Samba Canasta is a very versatile and fun card game in the rummy family.  It is like Canasta but with several differences that make the game, in our opinion, more fun/challenging.  We start at 13:00 and play until around 17:00 but we all have a life outside the Samba Canasta Group so if you come later, or have to leave earlier, it is not a problem as long as you tell me.  At 13:00 every player present draws a card which tells them on which table they are going to play.  (Ace = Table 1, 2 = Table 2, etc.)

Samba Canasta is ideally played with 4 people in two partnerships with three packs of standard playing cards. It is a relatively easy game to pick up and everyone is very welcome, even if you have never played Samba Canasta you are still welcome because we will help you wherever possible to have a nice afternoon while learning/playing the game.

You don’t have to bring anything with you other than €1.00 table money and a good sense of humour and we will provide the rest. Every week I will send out a message on the WhatsApp group so that I know roughly how many tables my partner, Yolanda, and I need to set up. The common language at the tables is English, but we also speak Spanish, Dutch and a little French.

Please remember that the restaurant is hosting us so you need to buy at least one drink per afternoon. We are looking forward to seeing you.  You can contact me either by email or WhatsApp.

New group members can come whenever they want because there will always be space for you.

At the end of the year, usually during the 1st week of December, we have an End of Year lunch/brunch and all players (and their partners) are welcome.
